Christmas Presents 2010

This is actually done in a bright green glitter floss and my co-worker likes green.





These are the ornaments I made for all the ladies I work with.





This is the jar lid I made for the guy at work who loves golfing and constantly brags about my stitching. He's the one I made the black lab for and he told me this morning that it was the hit of their Christmas Party.

I finally finished Dutch Treat's Nativity Table Topper. I didn't follow the chart exactly, I used red beads on the wreaths instead of french knots and did not do the blue squares around the center design. Please do comment.

Vegas LNS

Then I took a very looooooooooong bus trip to the only cross stitch shop in Vegas. Actually it was one bus up the Strip then a transfer to another bus up Sahara Blvd. But the good news: Only $7.00 for a 24 hr bus pass anywhere you wanted to go. I had a great time chatting with the women working there and a couple of great ladies that were stitching away. Then, of course, I bought a few things LOL.

These kits come in all 50 States
and each State has a different
type of New Stitch.
PA has Victoria Stitch and Nevada
has Greek Stitch. These could be VERY
INTERESTING to stitch LOL.







These are: Britty Puppies by Britter Cup Designs and have a dog house charm and a paw print charm. They were just toooo cute to resist - I love my doggie designs. The other one is a kinny Mini by Charland Designs and has several "strange" (for me that is) stitches and ice skate charm. It came with floss but not fabric.



This is a Pine Mountain Designs pillow call Top Ties. It was so colorful I couldn't resist it and it looks like a "quick stitch."

And last but not least is my Hinzeit chart. I have fallen in love with Hinzeit charts with charms. The material is a gloss 28 ct over dyed linen with a dark beigh background with mauvish, greenish design. The floss is Kreinik Fine Overdyed Braid in beigh, green, mauve colors. I loved the colors and just hope I can manage stitching with braid.


All in all I had a fantastic time visiting this shop.

Vegas Trip - CHER pictures

I had a fantastic time in Las Vegas from Sat 9/11 thru Thursday 9/16. We saw the show CHER. These are some of the costumes that were on display from her previous show. Her show was absolutely fantastic. Music, costumes, sets - just everything about it was unbelievable. She is a true entertainer.

When I went to the Stitching Post in Baltimore, MD I just fell in love with this pattern and had to have it. It is on my to-do list (after I finish the moose) so it probably won't get done anytime soon but I had to share the design. I couldn't get the special fabric so I got an overdyed light blue jobelyn (which I've never used before and love the softness of). Will post pics whenever I start it. LOL - I have so many projects I just want to start but not enought time. Oh well, I retire in less that 2 yrs and hopefully will do it all then - now that a huge LOL. I also bought all the special overdyed yarns too. I had a grand time at the LNS and my SO just can't figure out Stash.

My BF's daughter and grand-daughter are coming up from Florida for a joint birthday party and I'm invited so I just had to make something for them. The Amber bookmark is for her daughter and the Ela pillow cover is for her grand-daughter. No, I did not make the fabric around the pillow - it came that way. I x-stitch but do not really sew that much anymore. My BF says both of them will really appreciate something made special for them.

This is the black lab that was my very first commissioned piece. The man at work loved it as did all my co-workers. It was an easy stitch - but very boring. The material is a new Dimensions Aida 14 ct that is blue/white and I really like it. I framed it myself with lots and lots of help from my brother-in-law who use to do framing. By the way, the frame was only $3.00 from my local wal-mart.

This is my next BAP. As you can tell I sure don"t have much done LOL. Other stitching keeps calling me.

Christmas Projects

These are two Christmas projects.

Duck is completed but I have to finish off Santa. Santa is actually stitched on a burlap type fabric. His beard is french knots.

This is the afghan I made for my Mom some years ago. I was asked to post a photo. I have made numerous others but they were all gifts that I no longer am able to take photos of.
